Capacity Building & Sensitization Workshop on Anemia Mukt Bharat: T3 Camps and Financial Efficacy
Capacity Building & Sensitization Workshop on Anemia Mukt Bharat: T3 Camps and Financial Efficacy
Launched by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) in
2018, Anemia Mukt Bharat (AMB) Program aims to reduce prevalence of anemia
by 3 percentage points per year among children, adolescents and women in the
reproductive age group (15–49 years), between the year 2018 and 2022. The
strategy is to intensify the collaborative efforts to tackle anemia in the country.
After one year of its implementation, it is an appropriate time to introspect,
identify and improve the critical components. It is imperative to increase
demand generation through Test Treat and Talk (T3) Camps in order to reach
maximum beneficiaries. The National Centre of Excellence and Advanced
Research on Diets (NCEARD), a technical assistance resource centre to the
MoHFW has developed resource kit inclusive of counselling material and videos
to cover the Talk component of the T3 camps. These camps were scheduled at
various sites during POSHAN Pakhwada (March 2019) and POSHAN Maah
(September 2018 and 2019) to counsel on anemia prevention and control.
Furthermore, practicing dieticians and nutritionists are also trained on use of
developed counselling materials to counsel people at large.
In addition, for successful implementation of the programme, provision of
adequate budget to achieve 100% coverage of the key program indicators has to
be ensured. NCEARD has assessed the budgets of 14 states (covering 82% of all
the AMB beneficiaries) to analyze planning and approval gaps. It was observed
that financial planning could be improved under the program and tools have
been developed to aid state teams in filling gaps and plan for next year budget.
