Array of outreach activities conducted on occasion of POSHAN Maah

To mark POSHAN Maah, various awareness activities were carried out by National Centre of Excellence and Advanced Research on Diets (NCEARD) and students of Department of Food and Nutrition, Lady Irwin College

The entire month of September was celebrated as Rashtriya Poshan Maah as part of POSHAN Abhiyaan. It was launched by the Prime Minister in March last year with the vision to address malnutrition with a targeted approach by 2022. To mark this important month, an array of awareness activities were carried out by National Centre of Excellence and Advanced Research on Diets (NCEARD) and students of Department of Food and Nutrition, Lady Irwin College. The activities were aimed at spreading awareness on healthy diet, hygiene and sanitation. Following is the list of activities: 1. Arogya Bharat, Mission Poshan – A show on Doordarshan 2. Test, Treat and Talk Anemia Camps at Nirman Bhavan, New Moti Bagh Club and Ministry of Women and Child Development 3. Celiac Disease Awareness Programme 4. Feeding Smart from Start 5. Counselling activities at Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital 6. Awareness sessions at schools – 500 students reached 7. Awareness sessions at Anganwadi centres – 200 women reached 8. Awareness session for Canteen and CHASE staff 9. Awareness session at MDM Kitchen
